After the release of the Blade film starring Wesley Snipes, Activision bought the rights to create the one and only Blade GameBoy Color game. This game didn't get much attention when released so it made me kinda curious.
Gameplay:
Blade gives a good variety of gaming types throughout the whole game. These include thing like shooting, kung fu, and sword work. Just a bit of a pitfall with this is the difficulty is all over the place. It'll be easy for a bit then all of a sudden be very difficult.
Graphics:
The graphics for this game are very good with nice animation of characters. The sprites are well colored, good size, and run at a smooth frame rate, this means there are no glithes. Also, the title screen is excellent!
Sound:
Sound was pretty pathetic, even for the Game Boy (shocking!). The music was also pretty disapointing. At first the tune sounded okay, but it soon got repetative and boring. :(
Controls:
The controls, apart from the gunning scenes, are pretty much instinctive. Oh, about those gunning scenes, the controls feel wierd to start with, but you'll soon get used to them. All up, the controls work well, nice and responsive.
Final Comments:
All in all, this game turns out to be quite nice. If you're looking for a game to fill in those long journeys the I recommend it. However, if you're more of an 'imaculate' gamer you may wan't to sway towards something else, but rent it first before you make up you're mind.
