Intro...
Remember that island inhabited by all of those dinosaurs? Of coarse you do it's Jurassic Park! Jurassic Park 3: The DNA Factor is based on the movie franchise, not any movie in particular. It has your game character savaging around trying to find DNA canisters amongst innumerable dinosaurs.

Gameplay
The bulk of Jurassic Park 3: The DNA Factor takes the form of a side-scrolling platformer. Also included is a DNA puzzle game that is far too dull. The worst part of the game is prbably the fact that it relies on a continue option to get you through the game. There is no battery save (or even the dreaded password save), you get just one life, if you fail a puzzle it ends. Basically, this addds up to pretty poor gameplay.

Graphics
A bit dissapointing. The GameBoy Advance is capable of much better graphics. Overall the sprite animation is okay, I think that the game character could have been a little bigger also. Levels can be a bit repetative and boring.

Sound
Sound is good. The theme music is nice, but a bit too much like the psycho theme! Nevertheless, the music does set a nice mood to te game. Sound effects are the norm, nothing to call home about.

Controls
As far as navigating your game character around the levels goes, controls are good. They feel natural and are no trouble to pick up. The let-down here is the bad collusion detector. When trying to kill or dodge a dinosaur the collusion detector proves to be quite frustrating.

Final Comments
This game had potential, but some flaws in the gameplay and control areas dropped the score substanionally. As there are two more Jurassic Park games on the horizon for the GameBoy Advance, lets hope they earn a warmer welcome.
