The Port Royal Stud Breeding Program
Since its beginnings in 1997, the Port Royal Stud breeding operation has grown both in size and in quality. Initially, the program began with just a handful of mares: two Arabians, one Quarter Horse, and one Appaloosa. Those mares all went on to prove themselves worthy of our confidence as foundation stock. Amarna Rose Alaana produced our MSW and sire ALI-ALTAIR. Kaychinaa [EGY] produced MDA CH distance filly RAUN SERRA. Go Little Rebel produced our World Champion GOTTA LOTTA CLASS, as well as Champion of Champions & MG1SW/MCA SPECIAL LITTLE REBEL, MG1SW/MCA/HOTY CONFUSIONAL, and other SWs. Arctic Glare produced MRAA CH/sire ARCTIC CHANT, as well as undefeated MSW 2yo/MRAA 2yo SNOW PATROL amongst her SW progeny.
In 1999, the PRS team began to pursue the goal of standing a superior group of young stallions at stud. Over the past few years, the stallion barn has grown to include TB, QH, Arabian, and Appaloosa stallions. The Port Royal stallions will be well represented in 2009. Each of the breeding stallions that PRS stands produces 10 to 20 foals per year maximum, either owned by PRS or for outside mares.

Breeding Policies: Stallions
1. TBs may be bred to App/QH/Paint/TBs. Appaloosas may be bred to QH/Paint/TBs. Arabians may only be bred to other Arabians, and it is acceptable to cross nationalities (i.e. you may breed a Polish to an Egyptian).
2. Stallions MAY NOT BE USED WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION under any circumstances. It is very simple to get permission, as I will conduct "breedings" via email approval if you can accept Word attatchments.
3. Only Express & MRF members may request breedings at this time.
4. To request a breeding, please sumbit the following information to [email protected]: potential foal name, year of birth, color, gender, dam name/age/color/breed/owner, sire & dam of broodmare if not owned by PRS, the mare's produce record, your name, and your farm name. I will respond to all requests in as timely a manner as possible (almost always within a few days).
5. All stallion books (for any particular year) close at an absolute maxiumum of 20 foals. Beginning in 2003, most stallions are limited to 10-15 foals per year. Test crops, first crops, and crops produced in the final few years before pensioning may be even smaller and/or closed to outside mares. Please see individual stallion pages for any particular restrictions and closed years.

Breeding Policies: Mares
1. TBs may be bred to App/QH/Paint/TBs. Appaloosas may be bred to QH/Paint/TBs. Arabians may only be bred to other Arabians.
2. Older mare years are available for use to EXPRESS MEMBERS and by approval only.
3. To request a breeding, please submit the following: potential foal name, year of birth, color, gender, and sire (with brief pedigree and notes if not owned by PRS).
4. Most current mare years (2005 and on) are reserved strictly for PRS breedings. Older mare years for creation of broodmares are primarily what's available. If you are interested in a current year ('05-09) you may propose a trade with a year from a mare in your band, and we can swap foals. If looking to trade, please send me a few choices of comparable quality to the mare you are requesting from me.
