Of all things, GFW Tuesday Night Prime was canceled for coverage of the Tour De France. Infuriated, Nester DeFranco and Dr. Williams canceled the deal for the syndicated show but, I have the red hot results from the live event right here along with news about the Rod Gazinya Memorial show which is a can't miss event and should fill us in on exactly where the GFW stands without a TV deal. However the fans at the GFW arena were hot this week. The show kicked off with a bang.
GFW World Championship Gauntlet Match
The show kicked off with a rematch between GFW champion Jugernaut and the former champ the Rookie in the begining of the highly anticipated gauntlet match. While the match consisted of it's usual spots, the fans were happy to see Jugs take the Rookie out within five minutes to retain and move onto Tommy D who came out in a fit of rage. Tommy D attacked the champ but, was quickly overpowered by the mighty Jugernaut who took him out with another trademarked finisher in under two minutes. From there Ray Ace came out but, was hesitant to get in the ring. When he did, we all saw why. Jugernaut dismantled Ray Ace in another two minutes even though it seemed like he could have finished him in half that time with another trademarked finisher. While it was announced that PJ Parrozza was not in attendance, we moved onto Hobo Joe who has really come into his own since completing rehab. Hobo put up a great fight and actually got a 'Hobo Joe doesn't blow' chant. Hobo was about ready to land his finisher as he called for it. Unfortunately for him, he has never gotten much experience in trying out finishing moves so while he was thinking about it, Jugernaut layed him out with the burning hammer for the victory giving himself four title defenses in under twenty minutes with the finale with Hobo Joe going nearly eight minutes itself to he crowds approval. ** mainly for the respectability Hobo Joe brought to the match.
Winner- Jugernaut by pinfall x 4
Singles Match
You just had to know something was up with this match and the build up. The winner would go on to referee the world title match at the Rod Gazinya Memorial show. However, it turned out kinda odd in the end. While putting on a stellar match, both were disqualified by the referee for creating too much havoc causing the referee to lose control. Nester came out and said that this was no big deal. They could both be special enforcers outside of the ring as Dick Gazinya would make his return not only to team with him and take on QVC but, also to referee the world title match. Mr. Fabulous and Anastasia would be in charge of handling order and make sure the match stays clean from anyone who might try to get involved. Both agreed and we moved on. ** would be better if not for the cop out ending.
Winner- Double DQ
TV Championship Match Match
While this turned out to be a classic, there was little surprise in the outcome especially with the recent news surfacing the web about JackHammer's out clause in his contract. However, JackHammer made sure to pass the torch the right way by putting over Shane Madison who put on another showstopping match despite the crowds boos which I can tell he just feeds off. Shane Madison walks out with the title and tons of respect from this fan in an amazing twenty minute match. *** 1/2* Best match of the night by far.
Winner- Shane madison by pinfall and new TV champion
Main Event
A good choice to headline this show as Anton and P-X have been all over the GFW as of late. While Anton did his best to retain the title, P-X edged him out in a cheap way by using a backslide and putting his feet on the ropes. Anton argued with the referee about the blatant cheating but, Nester came out and said he'd had enough of the arguing. He signed a match for the Memorial show featuring not only P-X and Anton but, also Shane Madison. It would be a triple threat ladder match and both the TV and the X title would be on the line. From there Shane Madison came out of the crowd and clocked Anton with his belt and had a stair down with the X champ, P-X before security separated them. Lots of hype surrounding this match as the crowd was hoping to get a free preview but, that did not happen. *** good match and tons of set up for the Memorial show.
Winner- P-X by pinfall and new X champ
Afterwards Nester went on to hype the Memorial show but, remember that this was intended to be on TV. I guess the GFW will now have to rely on Dick Gazinya's return to pack in the buyrates which isn't thought of as a hard thing to do. I say order the show and then we'll see where Prime is heading. Meanwhile this was a solid show for the fans in attendance. Damn Tour De France. Oh well, I was there to see it. Sucks to be all of you.
