Shotwell Coho from San Francisco open this up with a rocky number called Rats. Vocal style reminds me a little of American Steel. A little bit gruff but it�s a fun poppy tune which seems to be about hating your job and drinking. Lots of whooping going on in the background. It�d be good to hear more from this band but apparently they�ve split up now so it�s our loss.

Discount do �Bloody Mediocrity� which, from the first few lines, also appears to be something to do with drinking. �He drank seven bottles empty, until he was swimming seriously. The room couldn�t be in view.� This is a happy sounding tune and makes me want to dance� it�s too short and this band are gone too. Damn. It�s a simple song but Alison�s vocals shine and soar as usual.
