Only The Lonely
From chapter 7:
Hearing Trevor crying, his parents rushed to his room. Seeing their son backing away from Rick, the politely asked Rick to leave. "NO" cried Trev. "I don't want him to leave, it's just I had a flashback of what happened." Trevor hated lying to his parents, but he didn't want Rick to leave, but at the same time, he was hurt that Rick had not been there when he needed him the most.
And now for Chapter Eight:
It has been several months since I got the crud beaten out of me, and I still have the bruises to show for it. Rick later told me how bad the bullies had beaten me up. I was in shock. They could have killed me if Rick hadn't showed up. My parents decided to press charges against all three of the boys.
The rest of the school year was pretty uneventful. The bullies were expelled after the school board heard about what happened. With Ricks help, and yes he spent every evening at my house, I achieved a perfect report card. My parents couldn't have been any happier. Over the summer Rick continued to spend time with me and my family. My parents have gotten really comfortable with him. They have even invited him to stay the night on quite a few occasions.
My relationship with Rick grew stronger as the time went by. On my 14th birthday, he took me to the most beautiful place I had ever seen. Of course it was on a different planet, but I didn't care. The planet he took me to looked simular to earth, with one exception. When you looked up to the sky, there was eight distinct rings across it. It reminded me of Saturn, but I knew that wasn't possible. I looked over at Rick and asked, "Where are we?" With a huge smile on his face, he replied, "You already know where we are." My jaw hit the floor. "Saturn?" I blurted out. He looked back at me and nodded. I just stood there in awe. "Wow! I didn't know Saturn had an atmosphere."
That was the best birthday I had ever had, yet. The summer months didn't seem to drag, now that Rick was around. He was always hanging around the house. We even camped out in the back yard a few times. Before I knew it, it was time for school to start. Rick dropped me off at school that first morning, wanting to make sure I made it okay. I didn't have a problem with it. It gave me more time with him. I walked into school, and was Immediately told to go to the office. 'Oh great, what did I do now. It's only the first day and I'm in trouble.' I thought to myself.
As I approached the office, I saw the three bullies being escorted away by the police. I got to the office right after they left. "I was told to report to the office." I told the secretary. She looked up at me and pointed to a chair next to her desk. I took the seat wondering what was going on.
I waited for 30 minutes for the principal. I was late for my home room class. I was finally called into Mr. Smiths office. "Mr. Marks. The reason I've called you in here is because of what happened last semister. Those three young men you saw escorted out, have been expelled from this school, as well as, assault charges have been filed by the school. You should not have had to endour what you did. I've called your parents, and they'll be arriving shortly. Would you like to wait for them, or would you like to get to class?" I looked at him for a minute, thinking, and said, "I'll wait for my mom and dad." What kid in their right mind would want to go to class?
My parents did show up and were informed of what happened. They were glad to know that those boys wouldn't be hurting their son any more. Little did they know that revenge was being plotted against me.
Three days after they were arrested, the boys had met up and were planning on hurting Trevor, because he had gotten them suspended and expelled. "That queer is going to get what's coming to him." Scowled Billy. "We're gonna get him good!" exclaimed John. Mark remained silent. He'd thought that the beating they'd given Trevor before was a little too harsh. "Hey guys, let's just leave Trev alone, we already beat the shit out of him?" With that question, both Billy and John glared at Mark.
It'd been a week since Billy, John, and Mark had been taken from school, and for once in his life, Trevor felt safe in school. The entire day passed without incident. Trevor sat in his last class of the day watching the second hand on the classroom clock. The time seemed to creep, but finally the bell did ring. He gathered up his stuff and headed to his locker. Opening the door to his locker, he noticed a piece of paper on top of all his things.
"Meet me behind the old factory at 4 o'clock." It was signed "From a secret admirer."
I looked around looking for anyone looking at me, or in my direction, but there were too many kids in the hall. So I took the note and put my books that I didn't need away. I headed out the front doors, to wait for Rick to show up. I looked for him for about an hour. He never showed. I figured that he had business off planet. Remembering what time the note said to meet up, I headed for the old abandoned factory at the edge of town. It took me about 15 minutes to walk there from the school.
In order to get where the note told me to go, I had to climb over a barbed wire fence. The one good thing about living in the country, is knowing how to deal with barb wire. I was over the fence in no time. I made my way around the building. Not knowing what to expect, I was nervous as all get out.
