Hi, my name is Gavin. This page is going to be based on my main hobby, Cartography. It has always been my main hobby from no age. I have always put Cartography as my favourite hobby. I hope you have an interest in Cartography because I would like to know!!!! |

Why I like Cartography! |
|
|
|
I like Cartography because it shows how our world is changing through maps. I like looking at the different colours of maps and I like looking at the details of maps. I think Cartography plays a big part in our lives especially if you are stuck in the middle of nowhere and you need directions. I would like to have a career in map-making because I just love it.
I also like looking at the history of Cartography especially the famous Cartographers like Strabo and Ptolemy. Them and other Cartographers in the past made some lovely maps that are very important to us today. I can't really remember when I started to love Cartography. I also like Cartography because of the street maps. I like to see if streets were there like 100 years ago. Well my street wasn't anyway. It was all fields where I live 100 years ago.
Finally. I like Cartography because it's always been my hobby and I still love it. I just like to sit on a chair and look at loads and loads of Cartography and maps. |

Street maps - Street maps show maps of streets!
Old maps - Old maps are really maps of the past!
Urban maps - Urban maps show maps of cities like London, Tokyo, New York etc....
Physical maps - Physical maps are maps that shows mountains, rivers etc.....
Poltical maps - Political maps show different countries, counties, states in different colours! |
