nubreed gets vicious

nubreed, one of australia’s most exciting and respected acts, has joined forces with leading independent label vicious.

long feted by the likes of adam freeland, hybrid, sasha, bt, way out west & timo maas, nubreed are at the centre of a strong Australian scene. together they have chalked up an impressive remix cv, with international artists tiësto & junkie xl, scritti politti, way out west, apex and skunk anansie all receiving the nubreed treatment in the past couple of years. they were top 5 on the national aria club chart with their remix of local bmg artist hamish (ex cordrazine), and the track they remixed for tiesto & junkie xl hit the top 60 singles chart in the u.k.. this short time has also seen the release of a handful of globally acclaimed 12's, including the brilliant welcome, food for thought, d.zire, ionosphere & neptune beach / midi killa.

having firmly cemented itself in the international music arena for over 13 years vicious has been at the forefront of australia’s dance music scene. achieving notable successes with the likes of madison avenue, ground level & rogue traders, just to name a few, vicious has over 100 releases under its belt. excited about signing nubreed, co-owner john course thinks it’s a great fit, “we have always been into what nubreed do and with their album nearly ready definitely feel it’s going to be a great combination of two independent collectives”.

looking forward to their new deal nubreed comment “the breed are supremely excited to be working with vicious on our debut album here in australia. we have enormous respect for what they've achieved as a label, and we love that they’re as enthusiastic about our music as we are. the vicious / nubreed combination is sure to be a volatile cocktail."

premier u.k. breaks label mob records (original home of the stanton warriors) will be releasing nubreed’s debut album outside of australia and new zealand, with vicious releasing a special australian only edition including several exclusive tracks and limited edition bonus cd containing nubreed’s best remixes, mixed together by phil k. a new single will be released to radio in late 2003 prior to the album which will be commercially released in early 2004 on vicious through festival mushroom records.
