Gavin DeGraw Radio
Campaign
for Follow Through
Gavin will release his first single to AAA, Top 40, and Hot Adult Contemporary and Adult Contemporary formats June 23rd, 2003. J Records has given official word of that Follow Through is Gavin's first radio single. At hitmakers.com Follow Through was listed as a new record release to radio for the week of May 19th, 2003. The fan association will begin requesting Follow Through to radio two weeks before its release to radio and until then e-mailing DJs and music and program directors about Gavin. Please follow the links below and a list of radio stations in each format will appear emphasizing the stations in the top 10 radio markets. Online and off line information is given about each station to make it fast and easy for you to request.
Please request
Follow Through radio only a few weeks before
the 23rd of June. Stations will likely only ignore
your requests because their Program and Music Directors may not have the single
on their desks yet and/or may not have been given the opportunity to review
Gavin's cd yet or even know who he is. Instead e-mail DJs and music and program
directors and introduce them to and tell them about Gavin.
Tell them about how you discovered Gavin's music and
that you think he would make a great addition to their station's play list and
that you feel their listeners would love his music just as much as you do.
Word of caution....
Don't e-mail and tell stations you work on a street team for Gavin and don't
e-mail stations outside your time zone. Your requests will be ignored
because they will know you are not from their listening area and like in
some members experiences here at the fan association they will send nasty
e-mails back saying they don't listen to those paid to request. If you do want
to write or request to stations outside your time zone (do one of three things:
1. Tell them you listen to them online a lot and would love to hear Gavin on it,
2. Change your computers timer and request in the correct time zone, or 3. Phone
your request. Many of the stations have 1-800 numbers and many of us have cell
phones that have free nights and weekends; take advantage of this. In general,
phone requests pull more weight than e-mail requests.
If we can all be faithful requesters for the next 6 weeks or so, hopefully we can get Gavin onto some of these stations. Once people start hearing him, hopefully we won't have to request to as many stations outside where we personally live and his newest fans can do this for us!! Tell your friends about Gavin and get them to request too. Together we can make Gavin huge on US radio!!
