Teacher Notes
- When I first began linking
the various pages together, I only hade a "Menu" link that would
return student back to the index (the first page). In re-reading Sara
B. Kadjer's The Tech-Savvy
Classroom , I was reminded
of a structural note: "An effective WebQuest will provide links to
the differnet sections from each of its pages" (82). When writing
and editing the pages for this WebQuest, I found myself frustrated when I
had to constantly refer to the main menu in order to navigate to another
page. If this time consuming routine frustrated me, it would
certainly disengage a user/student.
- For those educators
who are a bit encounter HTML editors with trepidation, there is an
excellent website that can easily assist you with designing a
webquest. Questgarden is an amazing resource that
will take you through every page of a webquest. Each page heading
comes equipped with what steps you need to take to seamless guide your
students' progression. This site is also helpful if you students
are interested in designing their own webquests.
