SCOPE

 

To provide a web application/website, which would serve as an Alumnus Network for our Institute.  The website would enable registered and authenticated users access to search tools which would enable them to look up the information of other registered users. The website also features a registration tool using which students can register at the site and upload their information.  

 

ENVIRONMENT AND SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

 

 

SERVER SIDE REQUIREMENTS:

 

q       A Web Server with servlet handling capability. The application is functionally independent of the operating system installed on the host machine, thus allowing it to be ported on all available web servers like Apache Web Server (for Windows 95/98/2K and Linux), IIS and the like.

 

q       Java libraries, including the extended Java libraries (javax.servlet, javax.servlet.Http).

 

q       MS Access and its drivers for database connectivity.

 

q       Business logic, application code and database.

 

q       Minimum Hardware Requirements – P1 processor with 166Mhz frequency and 32 MB RAM.

 

 

 

CLIENT SIDE REQUIREMENTS:

 

q       A Web Browser like Internet Explorer 5.0, Netscape Navigator 4.7.
