Yes, there are positives and negatives about academic activity in XLRI. To be honest about it all, I found plenty lacking in the opportunities given to the students.
I do think we have too many of these and there's no doubt about the fact that this ate into our time that we could have spent more fruitfully.
We have more than our fair share of this too but the administration certainly can't be blamed for extracurriculitis that affects some of the XLRI denizens.
However, looking back on it years later I think it wasn't too bad really. I am glad I stayed up all those wet nights and and drank myself silly... it's tough to do that anymore when you know that work beckons next morning. My advice would be to party your heart out and then get a dose of red bull to keep you up the rest of the night completing that infernal assignment.
