| Sensei Lucy Sanchez Vice President, Gattai Martial Arts, Inc., Sensei Lucy Sanchez has studied martial arts for over 17 years. She was the first female to achieve her Black belt in 1994 from the Police Community Athletic League (P.C.A.L.) in Plainfield, New Jersey where she trained under the instruction of Masters Jon Robinson, Myke Washington and Mike Gilliam. Sensei Lucy also studied Tae Kwon Do under the instruction of Master Song in Atlanta, Georgia. She has won hundreds of trophies and medals from competitions. Years of practicing have led to a passion for teaching for Sensei Lucy. In addition to teaching martial arts for the Plainfield Recreation programs, she has also taught at local schools and corporations and held self-defense classes at Rutgers University with the Rutgers Police Force. Sensei Lucy graduated from Plainfield High School and attended Rutgers University where she earned her B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. She then attended Syracuse University and received her M.S. in print journalism. Sensei Lucy has worked for various media including: CNN, CBS, New Jersey Networks "Images/Imagenes," Soul of Syracuse Internet and City News. She is currently Assistant Vice President of Executive/Internal Communications at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. |
