I’m sorry that this took so long too get out but I was having a lot of trouble getting anything written as of late.
Yugi: Yay, it’s about time you got more written!
Dai-na: Oh shut up, I didn’t see you coming up with and miraculously wonderful ideas.
Yami: That’s because you don’t pay us enough.
Dai-na: Pay you? Aren’t these fanfics enough for you?
Yugi and Yami: Nope
Dai-na: -_-;;; Ingrates. (sigh) on with the story.
By: Dai-onna
Yami awoke to something firm beneath his cheek and it took a moment for his mind to clear enough for him to remember what it was.
Seto.
The young billionaire had talked Yugi and Yami into spending the night at his mansion, despite the fact that they had school in the morning. While Yugi lay, curled up in the brunette’s arm, Yami laid practically on top of him, his head pillowed on Seto’s chest. Yami smiled to himself; half asleep, half awake and snuggled closer to the sleeping brunette. His smiled widened when Seto’s arm unconsciously pulled him closer. He looked up and studied his love’s sleeping face. His hair hung, unceremoniously in his face and it was all tangled from sleep. Without worries or painful memories, Seto’s features looker much softer and more boyish. With a frown he noticed tension draw across the other’s brow.
He must be having a dream. He realized. Quietly he studied the emotions that flickered over his face.
Seto laid content for what could have been hours, holding the young pharaoh close to him, reflecting on the hours past. He could still feel the other’s hands on him, exploring him with a patient manner that had driven him insane. When he looked down at the smaller boy he noticed him watching him with careful, crimson eyes.
“Seto?” Something in his voice, uncertain and cautious,
made the priest want to pull him closer.
“Yes, highness?” The smaller boy frowned at the name.
“Don’t call me that. Not here, not like this.” He
demanded softly. Seto gave him a thoughtful smile and lifted a hand to run it
through his hair.
“What should I call you then?” He asked. The pharaoh
seemed to debate this for a moment.
“Yami, I think.” He finally answered. Seto nodded.
“Yami then. What was it you wanted to ask?” Yami gave him
a somewhat hesitant smile.
“I wanted to ask if you would like to spend the night
here, with me.” He said. Seto appraised him slowly, his hand that was in the
other boy’s hair moving down to stroke his cheek. The young pharaoh leaned into
the caress like a cat, practically purring.
“This palace and everything in it belongs to you. You
needn’t ask.” He said, evading the question for the moment.
With a sigh, Yami pulled away from the bed and walked
over to the window, doing nothing to cover his unclad body. Looking out at the
night sky, he responded softly.
“But I wanted to ask.”
Seto sat on the
bed, appraising him wordlessly. It was rather obvious that the young pharaoh
wanted him to be here of his own choosing and not because he felt obligated to
stay.
Silly boy, he thought. If he didn’t want to be here then
he wouldn’t. He felt very deeply, it seemed, for the young monarch and what had
happened between them was important to him.
He silently
crossed the room to stand behind the other boy. He smiled at the other’s quick
intake of breath when he wrapped his arms around his waist. He pressed a small
kiss to the boy’s exposed neck.
“I will stay for as long as you want me to.” He whispered
softly against the other’s skin. “And even when you no longer want me around, I
will still be here.”
Yami shivered at his intent words and leaned back into
arms, reassured. He sighed and smiled wryly up at Seto.
“It seems I have become quite foolish where you’re concerned.”
He said, commenting on their situation. Seto returned his smile with one of his
own and turned the other in his arms so that he was facing him. He lifted the
other’s chin and leaned in close.
“Foolishness is highly underrated.” He murmured before claiming
Yami’s lips with his own…
Seto drifted somewhere between sleep and consciousness as his dream faded away. He felt the urge to smile at the tender memory but was restrained by the nagging suspicion that these memories were just preparing him for something. Something that, if he wasn’t well forewarned, could bring everything crashing down around him.
He mentally shook away the disturbing thought. When he heard a soft exhalation of breath he blinked his eyes open and found himself drowning in deep pools of crimson. He had to wonder if he wasn’t still dreaming.
He cleared the sleep from his mind and smiled at the pharaoh.
“Oh yeah,” He murmured softly so as not to wake up Yugi who was still asleep. “This is definitely the way to wake up.” Yami smiled at him and leaned up to kiss him. Seto eagerly accepted his kiss and parted his lips for the smaller boy. Yami took up the invitation and slipped his tongue into his mouth to taste him. A small tremor ran through Seto’s body and the brunette pulled Yami closer, his free hand stroking the other’s back.
They were startled apart when Seto’s alarm clock went off and exchanged sheepish looks as Yugi started to wake up. Yugi yawned widely, oblivious to the exchange.
They had showered the previous night so they took time getting dressed. Seto insisted on brushing Yugi’s hair and without much protest the smaller boy let him, enjoying the feeling.
Mokuba joined them for breakfast and he and Yugi chatted amiably about various things. Yami and Seto watched them; smiling to one another, glad at how well they got along together. Seto was glad. He didn’t know what he would do if Mokuba didn’t approve of his relationship and he loved his brother even more for his easy acceptance of it.
When breakfast was finished, Yami said goodbye to the other’s and went back to his soul room. One of these days he was going to just enroll in Yugi’s school without telling anybody and then he’d just show up. Oh the looks on their faces. He thought, imagining it with a grin. He could just see it so clearly. Spending his days with Yugi and Seto, enjoying lunch with them and laughing over their classes or some stupid thing one of their friends-probably Joey-had done. The more he thought about it, the more he wanted it. He sighed wistfully and let his mind wander.
Yugi sat comfortably, snuggled up against Seto in the back of the limo as it took them too school. He had a sleepy look on his face and could barely keep his eyes open. It wasn’t that he hadn’t gotten enough sleep or had been worn out the previous day—though he certainly had just reason to claim so—it was just that being this close to Seto made him so content, his strong arm around him making him feel warm and safe was enough to have him letting his eyes fall shut and drifting off. He looked up and found his brunette love staring down at him with an amused smile and knew that his distraction hadn’t gone unnoticed. He returned the smile warmly and snuggled deeper into the taller boy until something occurred to him and he pulled back a little.
“Ne, Seto, we’ve got time, can we walk the rest of the way?” He asked, turning his large eyes on full pout. Seto nearly laughed at the expression and nodded, telling the driver to let them out where they were. When the limo had pulled away, Seto turned to Yugi with a curious expression on his face. Yugi smiled sheepishly and attempted to explain.
“Something about pulling up to the front of the school and getting out while everyone is watching just doesn’t appeal to me.” He said. Seto nodded thoughtfully.
“Mmm. I can’t say it grows on you, but you get used to it.”
With a smile, Yugi took his hand and they walked down the street towards the school oblivious to everything around them.
Yugi was practically humming to himself all through his first few classes until he remembered that he had a purpose for to day. A revelation that had come to him in the middle of class with a surprised “Oh!” that had had the whole class looking at him. He’d spent the rest of the period ridding low in his seat, bright red, trying his best to be invisible.
He watched his prey from a distance, slowly, surreptitiously, following him, careful not to give away his presence. Students were walking all about and he hid easily in the massive throng, watching, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. His prey seemed completely oblivious to him and he smiled to himself as he continued his observation, watching the way that the boy would interact with others, one ‘other’ specifically.
Finally, the perfect opportunity arose and his prey was all alone.
He pounced.
“Joey!” The blonde whirled around with a startled yelp. When he saw who it was he pressed a hand to his chest in relief.
“Yugi! Man, don’t DO that!” He reprimanded, trying to catch his breath. Yugi smiled at his friends reaction then schooled his face into a determined expression. He moved in close with a look that had the blonde unconsciously retreating from him until his back was pressed up against a wall. Yugi poked him in the chest with his finger.
“You’re hiding something from me, Katsuya Jounouchi, and I want to know what it is.” He stated. Joey’s eyes went wide and he turned a bright red trying to stutter out some response. Obviously, the blonde was having some trouble getting his wits about him.
“Here, let me help.” Yugi offered, taking the other boy’s chin in his hand and making his mouth open and close as he spoke. “This is were you say something like ‘Yeah, Yugi, I’m going out with Ryou.’”
If possible, Joey went even redder and swallowed deeply until he saw the bright smile on Yugi’s face and relaxed a little. He shrugged, trying to maintain some of his dignity.
“Yeah, well, if you already knew, then I didn’t need to tell you, did I?”
Yugi scowled at him and he sighed.
“Well, You caught me. So what is it?” He asked defensively. Yugi smiled again and released his friend’s chin, taking a few steps back to give him some breathing room.
“Let’s start with: How long has this been going on?” he asked sweetly. Joey smiled a little to and sat down on a nearby bench, motioning for Yugi to join him. He did so and waited for the blonde to speak.
“You remember last Friday when we had that weird conversation and ended up talking about Yami Bakura’s hair?” Yugi nodded. How could he forget? He was still trying to figure that out.
“Well, apparently Ryou heard us.” Yugi flushed when he realized that he had been caught talking about someone behind their back. With a deep swallow, he motioned for Joey to continue.
“On my way home that day, I was still kinda upset with you guys for the way you reacted to what I said and wasn’t really paying attention. I mumbled something to myself and then someone responded to it. I look up and there’s Yami Bakura standing against the wall staring me down, you know the way a hungry cat stares down a fat pigeon.” Yugi listened in rapt fascination as Joey explained how everything had happened, while carefully editing it for the smaller boy’s ears. By the time he was done Yugi was laughing so hard that tears were rolling down his round cheeks. It seemed that Joey was having a hard time not laughing too.
“I can’t believe that Yami Bakura propositioned you!” Yugi gasped out. Joey’s eyes widened and he brought a finger to his lips.
“Shhh!!!! Not so loud, geez.” Yugi nodded apologetically but was still laughing inside. Seeing the somewhat anxious look on his friend’s face, Yugi smiled sweetly.
“Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who secretly dating a guy.” He said somewhat mysteriously. Joey’s eyes were fixed on him in an instant, disbelieving. The blonde appraised him critically.
“I don’t believe you.” Yugi’s smiled just widened and a slight flush filled his cheeks.
“No way!!! Who?” The blonde demanded, insatiably curious.” Yugi speared him with a look.
“You promise not to tell anyone?” He asked. Joey nodded emphatically and Yugi sighed. “Good, cause I’d need at least a month to prepare for telling Tea. You see; Me and Yami are dating Seto. I mean seriously, we’re in love with him.” Joey’s eyes widened dramatically as his brain slowly processed the words and Yugi waited for the outburst that was imminent.
It never came, to his surprise; Joey seemed to examine the situation.
“Well, you have been looking like you’re about to start floating off the ground at any moment. And,” he said, drawing out the word. “Kaiba has been acting less like a jerk lately. So I guess it’s okay. Just as long as you’re happy.”
Yugi beamed at him and hugged him tightly, thankful for his support. Incredibly relieved, Yugi looked at his watch and saw that lunch was only halfway over so, giving Joey another hug, he ran off in search of Seto.
He found him sitting where they usually ate and plopped down beside him wordlessly, grinning like crazy. Seto noticed and gave him a questioning look.
Instead of saying anything, Yugi surprised Seto By throwing his arms around him and tackling him to the ground. He laughed at the startled look on his love’s face but the sound caught in his throat when his eyes went dark. Yugi flushed slightly under his intense gaze and blinked when Yami appeared. His dark half just sat down beside them, studying them curiously. Yugi moved off of Seto and the brunette looked at Yami curiously.
“You gonna tell me what that was about?” He asked, indicating Yugi’s behavior. Yami smiled for a moment.
“He told Joey about us.” He explained. Seto’s eyes widened. Yugi blinked once again in surprise, he didn’t think his Yami had been listening to them.
“You heard that?” Yami nodded. Yugi’s eyes widened even more.
“Then you heard what me and Joey were talking about before that?” The slightest smirk formed at the corner of the pharaoh’s mouth and Yugi knew that he had. Yami nodded again.
Seto sat watching them, more than a little confused but he knew better than to ask. With Jounouchi he probably didn’t want to know anyway. So he ignored the odd display and continued his lunch while Yugi took out his own lunch. The smaller boy didn’t have much, he noticed. Just a sandwich and some grapes.
They ate in a peaceable silence, Seto enjoying his loves’ company. Even if he spent every hour of every day with them, he didn’t think that he would ever get enough. He smiled as he turned to watch Yugi eat but then all thoughts flew out the window when he saw just what his smaller love was doing.
Seto’s mouth went completely dry as he watched Yugi slowly eating his grapes, pealing the skin from them with his teeth entirely before finally biting into the fleshy center. A groan was nearly torn from his throat and he looked briefly over at Yami to find the pharaoh equally entranced. Did Yugi have any idea what the hell he was doing to them? He closely examined the boy’s face, finding it to be completely oblivious to their reactions. At least, that was what he’d thought until he saw the smug glimmer in the other’s violet eyes.
With somewhat of a growl he tackled the other boy to the ground, causing him to laugh a little in surprise. But before the sound was even completely off of his lips Seto had claimed his mouth in a bruising kiss. He could still taste the juice of the grapes on Yugi’s tongue as his own dueled with it, conquering his mouth with a fury. Their bodies melded into one another as the kiss continued, neither sure where one ended and the other began. Seto’s hands were everywhere over the soft form beneath him and when he pulled away it left them both breathing heavily with need.
Yami watched them both with an amused eyes before he grabbed Yugi to administer his own punishment for the smaller boy’s teasing. Yami’s kiss was less forceful, less impatient but it was light and incredibly teasing leaving the smaller boy want for more. When Yami released him the small boy pouted up at him pitifully and neither could resist laughing at the expression.
Seto, being completely whipped by his two loves, indulged the smaller boy with one final, lingering kiss before the bell rang.
Yami reluctantly returned to his soul room and they hurriedly cleaned up their things before heading off to their next class.
The week began to pass as it often did, the days blurring into a monotonous haze, but Friday Yugi and Yami were surprised to find Seto absent from school. The older boy had told them nothing of not being in school that day so it must have been something unexpected that kept him from being there. Seto never missed school. It was just one of those unspoken rules.
The day passed entirely too slowly for them as they anxiously awaited the time when they could find out whether or not something was wrong with their love. When the final bell finally rang, after what seemed like an eternity, Yugi rushed from the building, running as fast as his small legs would carry him in the direction of Seto’s mansion. He was thankful when Yami took control of his body, the longer legs able to get him to where he needed to be that much sooner.
When they finally arrived at the Kaiba mansion, Yami appeared beside Yugi and both were out of breath. After a moment Yami pounded on the door and they were both met with a frantic Mokuba, a sight that did little to ease their worried minds.
“Thank god you two are here.” He said; the words coming out almost like a sigh of relief. Yugi and Yami exchanged looks.
“Mokuba what’s wrong? Is it Seto?” Yugi asked, a touch of panic in his voice. Mokuba nodded and drew them inside.
“I don’t know what it is. He’s just sitting there on his bed mumbling to himself. It’s like he doesn’t even hear anything that I say to him, “ Mokuba explained. “ It’s like he’s not even there. Maybe you two can get through to him.”
The two spike-haired boys ran up the stairs to Seto’s room, unaware of what filled their love’s mind
Seto watched him from the opposite side of the room. The
Young pharaoh had yet to say a word to him since it had happened. Ice sank into
the pit of his stomach just thinking about it. The previous night there had
been an attempt on the pharaoh’s life. It had been nothing serious. The
assailant had been easily disposed of with little danger to Yami himself but
the other priests had taken it as the perfect opportunity to remind his lover
of his responsibility as pharaoh and that he had to get married so that he
could produce an heir. Seto had never wanted to kill someone so much in his
life as he wanted to tear those stupid priests limb from limb. When they had
spoken, Yami had gone completely pale and, knowing that he had no way to escape
such a situation, had consented to let them choose a bride for him.
He was to be married in a fortnight.
His attention was caught when Yami silently moved across
his room to a far wall, with some measure of surprise he watched as a hidden
panel revealed itself and Yami removed something from it, though with his back
to him, Seto was unable to see what it was.
“Seto?” The pharaoh’s voice was flat and lifeless and the
young priest nearly flinched at the sound of it.
“Yes, Yami?” He said, addressing him by the name his
young lover had come to prefer.
“I have something that I want to give you.” Seto’s brow narrowed
at the peculiar tone that hitched his voice just for a moment. He was silent as
the pharaoh turned to face him but when he saw what he held his eyes went wide
and he was stunned speechless by what was being placed in his hands.
The Sennen Rod.
The thing that he’d longed for his entire life, his
birthright that had been denied him so long was now resting in his hands as if
it had been there all along. He looked up at his lover in confusion to find
that he had once again turned away from him and had resumed watching the night
sky.
It was at that moment that Yami’s true intentions became
clear and he saw red.

Well, that’s that. I know I’m evil; leaving you hanging like that but the next chapter shouldn’t take long too get out. As always, please review.
