Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Okay,  just a random piece I wrote while I was bored. Probably just a one-shot. To preempt any confusion, this takes place in ancient Egypt and Mahado (I'm not entirely sure if that's how it it's pronounced) Is the Dark Magician, before he died and became the card.  I'm just following along with the manga translations I read.

anyhow, enjoy!^^

Just an Ordinary Day

By Dai-na

"Seto! How could you be so disrespectful?!" The young man, and bearer of the Sennen ring demanded of his fellow priest, his blue eyes blazing in indignation. Seto snorted at his outrage, seemingly not put out by it in the least.

"Oh come off it, Mahado, we aren't all a pharaoh's pet." He growled lightly, bored by the all too familiar argument. Even though they often started out differently, they always ended the same; with the Ring bearer chewing Seto out for not showing 'proper respect' to their oh so beloved pharaoh. The thought made him snort.

"Just because I am loyal to the pharaoh, does NOT make me a pet." The other insisted, a slight flush creeping into his cheeks at the insinuation.  Seto couldn't help but smirk at that.

"Oh, of course not." He drawled, turning away to not laugh outright at his fellow priest.

Mahado huffed, his hands clenched by his sides, about to leave, when the other's voice--slightly distorted-- reached him.

"'Oh course, My pharaoh.’ ...'You're so wise, pharaoh-sama'....'I'd do anything for you, Pharaoh-sama." the brunette crooned out in what was obviously supposed to be an imitation of the ring holder.
Mahado's sky blue eyes widened in indignation and he had to resist the urge to throttle the brunette priest. Ra, but it was tempting, though.

"Are you two at it again?"
Both priests jerked their gaze up at the smooth voice, to see their obviously amused pharaoh striding towards them. Both bowed respectfully, though Mahado's bow was significantly deeper, causing Seto to snicker.

The tri-colored haired pharaoh resisted the urge to grin lightly as his priests glared at one another for the slight exchange.

"Ra help us... Can not a day go by without to two of you sniping at one another like an old married couple?" He asked, though there was more amusement than exasperation in his voice. Both priests stopped glaring and looked slightly sheepish.

"I apologize, Pharaoh-sama." Mahado said solemnly, his eyes downward. It was clear that Seto was trying not to snicker at him again. The bearer of the Sennen rod lowered his head slightly as well.

"As do I." He murmured, more out of habit than actually being sorry. The young monarch rolled his eyes lightly.

"Do tell me something, though, my priests. Why is it that I am always at the center your conflicts?" He asked curiously, looking between the two.

The two blinked at that, both looking startled, it seeming that neither of them had thought of that before. There were dumbfounded looks for a moment as neither priest could come up with an answer.

The small pharaoh chuckled at that, shaking his head a little.

"If one didn't know any better, they were think you were fighting over me." He purred as he walked past the two with a saucy wink.

Both young men stared after him, completely baffled, and there was a long silence before they looked at one another.

"Absurd." Seto muttered gruffly, though didn't quite look convinced as he stared after their pharaoh.

"Utter nonsense." Mahado agreed, swallowing slightly. There was another silence between them as they looked at one another, something similar sparking in their eyes.

"He's mine." Seto stated, his hands on his hips as he gave the other priest a stony look, daring him to contradict him.

The blonde priest gave Seto a startled look, then glared, taking up a similar stance.

"Not on your life. The pharaoh likes me more, anyway." He defended.

Seto snorted at that.

"I could have him anytime I wanted." He said confidently, looking down his nose at the other priest.

The blonde glared.

"In your dreams, pretty boy. Why would the pharaoh want someone who's always questioning him and showing disrespect?" He demanded.

"Better a challenge than having someone who's always licking at his boots like a mongrel."

"He likes me better!"

"No way, he prefers me."

"Me."

"Me."

"......"

"....."

""PHARAOH-SAMA!!!!""
