*** The Garden ***
It's all about choices it seems.  Making the decision to homeschool is a big one, but with that under our belt we need encouragement.  We need to be reminded that the day will come when we will look back with a smile and a sigh and say "It was worth it!"  And it will be!  I hope those of you who have been in the "field" for awhile can see that already!

Sometimes it is important to look at the good things that are happening in the middle of the paperwork, dishes, "Awwww Mom", and home repairs!  Your children are being raised individually as tender plants that are well cared for.

As parents, we may not answer every question nor listen to every word, but we are there to see every heartbeat of iniquisitiveness.  "What is it?"  "Why?"  "What if?"  Point them to the answers and let them discover as a gardener points her seedlings to the sun and says "Grow!  Reach!"  We plant, we water, we weed when necessary, and we wait.  We watch as the young plants blossom with life and beauty!
As homeschoolers life can be challenging and eventful!  Instead of adding to the challenges, The Gathering is choosing to make our calendars meaningful and not just full!
Focusing on the few weeds we must pull distracts us from the beauty and life that surrounds us!  I know!  I have a weed garden with a tiny corner of chives right now!  So what did I do?  I pulled the weeds that were directly around my herbs and let the rest go.  Sometimes we get too focused on the weeds in our calendars and we lose sight of our own needs.

                 Hence...The Gathering.
