1. Age: 24
2. City in which you currently live: Atlanta, GA
3. Hometown: Springboro, OH
4. Occupation: Student at Georgia Tech. Anyone want to hire a good industrial engineer? :)
5. Single/Married: Single thank goodness
6. Kids (and ages): none
7. Years playing APBA: 1
8. How many APBA games do you roll per year: 50-75
9. Favorite Baseball team and why (current): Dodgers. I’ve always been a true blue Dodger fan. I get some interesting looks in the heart of Braves country.
10. Favorite Baseball team and why (all-time): 1988 Dodgers. My favorite team by far. On paper, they never should have even gotten to the WS much less win it. That’s why they play the game though. Hershiser was masterful that year and I think I broke my parents couch when Gibson hit the dramatic homer to win Game 1.
11. Favorite Baseball player and why (current): Ken Griffey Jr. The guy just has all the tools of a superstar. Still have his 1989 Upper Deck rookie card.
12. Favorite Baseball player and why (all-time): Jackie Robinson. It is incredible that he did such a great job with all the crap he had to put up with. He is one of the reasons that I am a Dodgers fan.
13. Favorite Baseball stadium (current): Wrigley Field with Fenway a close second
14. List of Major League Baseball stadiums you’ve been to: Riverfront/Cinergy Field, Atlanta Fulton-County Stadium, Turner Field, Wrigley Field, Metrodome, Skydome. Would have gone to Jacobs Field if the strike hadn’t happened. :(
15. Favorite College Team: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. It’s great to be a fuzzy bee!
16. Non-APBA hobbies: Reading, video games, cheering at almost all GT sporting events. We’re #1 in the country in college baseball. Woo-hoo!
17. If I could play MLB, what position would I play: First base. I can still pick it off the dirt.
18. Most Memorable APBA Moment (sentences/paragraphs OK here): In my 1999 replay, Manny Ramirez hit three homers and had eight RBI’s. The only problem was that Cleveland still ended up losing 16-14 in a wild scorefest.
19. If you had a chance to have dinner with any baseball player that ever lived, who would that be? Ted Williams. I think it would be really interesting to hear him speak about the game of baseball and how it has changed over the years.
20. General Comments (Do
you like the DH? Do you like interleague play? Have you ever
rolled any No Hitters or Perfect games? Ever end a game in a “Walk
Off Home Run?) I am totally against the DH. If you are healthy
enough to hit, you are healthy enough to be out in the field. I didn’t
care much for interleague play at the start but it has grown on me over
the past few years. It’s kinda neat to see the Mets-Yanks, Reds-Indians,
and Cubs-White Sox face off against each other as well as seeing some interesting
battles such as the Braves-Red Sox series. No no-hitters or perfect
games yet though I’ve been close once. I’ve had a few walk off homers.
