| THE FAVOR You called me one night And said you had a problem Could I please do you a favor? I hesitate, but only a second Sure, "No problem," I reply. But as I go to do that favor There are others who tell me "no" They refuse to see things my way How could I betray a friend With a matter of such importance? So I resolve to carry out my favor And with a plan I do I tell others more experienced than I Who help me figure things out They make it clear what I must do Those who told me not to were angry But it was too late You see, I had already done the favor You call me later to thank me You say it meant a lot "No problem," I reply.
