Fifty-nine years old patients was admitted because of
chronic epigastric pain, loss of apetite and weight loss. He experienced his
symptomatology for about four months. His clinical findings was normal. Erythrocyte
sedimentation rate was 20mm/h. Haematologic studies, blood sugar, BUN, serum
creatinine, uric acid,AST,ALT, alkaline phosphatase, serum proteins were all
within normal limits. Abdominal ultrasound examination was normal.
Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed
in the lower third of the oesophagus poorly demarcated nodular mucosal
elevation. ( Panel A ).
