Each week a Second Grade
student is chosen to be our
"STUDENT OF THE WEEK"
All week long the "Student of the Week" has special privileges.
MONDAY-Classmates
write a friendly letter to the "Student of the Week"
thanking them for the talents they share with the class. Each student reads
their letter aloud to the class. The friendly letters are compiled into a class
book for the "Student of the Week" to keep as a treasure from the
class. The "Student of the Week" will bring home a special backpack
called a "SharePak". They may bring in five special items from home
that tell about themselves. The five items must fit in the "SharePak".
They will tell the class why each item is special to them.
TUESDAY-The "Student of the Week" shares their five items with the class. They will take the five items back home with them at the end of the day.
WEDNESDAY-The "Student of the Week" will read a book or poem of their choice aloud to the class for fifteen minutes.
THURSDAY-The "Student of the Week" will receive a "Smile-O-Gram" from the teacher.
FRIDAY-"Winston the Reading Bear" goes home with the "Student of the Week" for a weekend visit. Winston returns to school on Monday after his weekend visit. Winston is a stuffed bear backpack with books about his favorite subject, bears. The "Student of the Week' reads to him since reading is his favorite thing to do with the people he loves. Winston is our class pet.
