Jesiusfini drew in a deep, long, satisfying breath, before letting it out through his teeth in a drawn-out exhale. That being done, he turned to regard the sunest, its bold, brilliant colors painting the night sky gold, deep, rich violet, and blood red. Clouds sailed over the quiet world, roaring on in their journeys, meaningless existences that were doomed to end in, if nothing else, precipitation.
Yes, much of the world didn't have much of an obvious purpose. Fini had come to that realization long ago. There was a strange peace associated with the knowledge that one's existence was completely and utterly pointless in the grand scheme of things. Certainly, a person could still do good with such awareness, but, if they somehow messed things up, they could take comfort in knowing that it really wasn't going to affect the world in the long run.
Perhaps that philosophy didn't work for everyone, but it worked for Fini. The end, when it eventually came, would be met with a sturdy readiness and grim determination. Death was not a frightening thought for Fini; he had seen it many times in the eyes of others, and it was part of existence. The light would go out in his own blue eyes someday, and the world would go on as usual.
