A flash of red. White swirling past. Red, white, red, white, and the Di ran still, rounding the course with ceaseless energy. A hurdle there, leapt with ease. A tunnel, and then he was through. Seemingly for hours, Aronyo ran, until he finally collapsed in a panting heap.
Standing and shaking his head, he walked over to a waiting bowl of cool, clear water, drinking long and deep. That was better, now. Nothing like a good morning run to get a body in shape...
Not that Aronyo needed to get in shape. If he had been a human, a black belt would have been awarded to him long ago. As a Di, he was simply good at what he did -- he needed no badge of recognition to prove that. Let the humans do what they wanted -- he was stronger than any of them. And he knew it.
