Lazily, Arielle turned over in the patch of sun, soft plush cheek pressed against the stubbly concrete. Sounds of laughter floated down from the top of a brick wall, high above. The Di narrowed her eyes, getting to her feet in a single, fluid motion. Leaping onto the lid of a nearby trash can, her dark paws made a pattering noise on the hollow plastic. Stretching her neck, she peered over the weathered brick to see a young teenage couple, talking as they leaned casually against the other side of the wall. With a sneer, she prepared to leap out after them, chasing them away down the street. They had, after all, disturbed her wonderful nap.
But then again, why bother? There was an equally warm patch of sunlight behind the building next door, where she wouldn't be able to hear them. Maybe she would just nip over there for a bit, leave them be...
Yes, that seemed best. She wouldn't want to mess up her coat, now, would she? And after she had just preened it...
Muttering under her breath, Arielle sauntered off, headed for a well-earned nap.
