~ THE PUMP ENGINEER ~

Although the pump engineer normally works from 8 until 5, he is always ready to respond to an emergency call. A fire or explosion may have occurred on a site, a car or truck may have collided with a pump, or any incident at all may have happened resulting in a health and safety emergency, such as a strong smell of petrol inside the shop. In such cases occurring out of normal working hours, the engineer will assess the situation, make the equipment safe and take the required follow-up action the next day.

REBUILDING A SCHLUMBERGER PRESTIGE MODEL 6 HIGH SPEED DERV DUO PUMP WHICH HAD BEEN HIT BY A TRUCK AT TEXACO FORTHVIEW SERVICE STATION IN SOUTH QUEENSFERRY, SCOTLAND.

This can be a regular occurrence as a pump is in the most perilous position for damage from vehicles.

THE CITROEN XANTIA ESTATES USED BY THE SCHLUMBERGER ENGINEERS WERE REPLACED BY CITROEN DISPATCH VANS AFTER THE COMPANY WAS BOUGHT OVER BY TOKHEIM.
