COMMERICAL ART ELECTIVE
The commercial art elective introduces students to the rudiments of graphic art,
commercial designs, and utility arts and crafts.
The graphic art units will deal with lettering and lettering designs. Types of
lettering will include examples Gothic, Roman, and Modern lettering. Students
will learn different types of lettering and how to layout and paint advertisements
such as poster and banners.
The commercial designs will consist of labels, cartoons, book cover designs, magazines
covers, greetings cards, and tropical issues like Drugs, The Environment, etc.
The utility art and craft component will deal with art and craft techniques and
will include various media like soap stone, clay found objects and cloth. Students
will have to create art works that have a high commercial value
