Gary has few appearances but is always my favorite part of the show.

Pokemon, I Choose You! - This was the first episode of Pokemon. We are introduced to Gary as he stands outside Professor Oak's lab surrounded by many people and his ever faithful cheerleaders. He sticks around just long enough to tell Ash he got the best Pokemon and that he will be the greatest Pokemon master ever.

Here Comes the Squirtle Squad! - Ok, if you don't believe me freeze the frame where Ash gets the door slammed in his face at the little shop, its Gary!

Holiday in Acupolco (Beauty and the Beach) - Gary's third appearance. He has all his cheerleaders enter a beach beauty competition and irritates Ash again.

Dig Those Diglett - When Ash, Misty, and Brock show up to help a group of builders get rid of some Diglett Gary pulls up in a red convertible flocked with cheerleaders. Gary uses this time to show people what he knows about Diglett (and irritating the supervisor of the building of the bridge in the process). After he sees the situation is hopeless and a waste of time he decides to leave.

Attack of the Prehistoric Pokemon - As Ash, Misty, and Brock come to Grandpa Canyon (who came up with that name anyway???) they once more meet up with Gary. This time he's decked out in Indiana Jones clothing and is ready to hunt for... fossils? He tells them the canyon is full of them and heads off, although the best he could find is fossilized Pokemon manure (ick!).

Riddle Me This! - Ash and Gary meet on a ferry, where Gary says Ash can't get a Volcano badge. Later on Ash and Gary meet again at a hotel where Gary can't help but show off all the food he has to eat and how nice a place it is. Then along comes Jigglypuff and puts Gary to sleep.

Battle of the Badge - This is the first time we see Gary battle. He does excellent at first and then totally loses to Mewtwo, but that can't be helped. Gary then watches Ash battle Team Rocket and see how good Ash actually is. He also stops Meowth from blowing up Ash's platform, isn't he sweet?

Showdown at the Poke-Corral - Ash and Gary meet once again at Professor Oak's lab. They get a glimpse at each other's Pokemon and see how the other is doing. Then Team Rocket shows up (you were expecting Santa Claus?). Ash's Tauros herd kicks them into the sky. Then Gary decides to leave saying its been a long day (personally I think he knew that Professor Oak was going to make Ash fix the fence and left before he had to get in on it).

All Fired Up - Gary relaxes in this episode and gets info on the competition for the Pokemon League, when Ash shows up he tells him he better watch it. As Gary gets up to leave he says he better leave now or he'll catch "Loseritis" and miss the competition. These are the words that keep Ash up half the night worried about the Pokemon League.

Round One - Begin! - Gary has about a one minute role in this episode, he wins his first match and is seen on TV talking about how he won his first battle and that some trainers aren't very good.

Fire and Ice - Gary looks like he gets worried in this episode. Again he's only in it for about one minute but this time is used to comment that Ash needs to watch it, "'cause when his luck runs out Ash Ketchem won't have anything to talk about."

Fourth Round Rumble - This is the last episode we see Gary in for about a year. He battles a trainer named Melissa and her Golem. Nidoking doesn't last long and Gary loses. Afterward Ash comes out to talk to him and Gary tries to brush away the fact that he lost and heads for home.

A Tents Situation - Gary returns at the end of this episode to stop Team Rocket from stealing the Pokemon at Professor Oak's lab. He then frees the Professor, Ash, Misty, Brock, and Tracey (not that he should have hehehe). Professor Oak then comments on how well Gary is doing now and is a much better trainer.

The Rivalry Revival - Ash and Gary face off in a one-on-one Pokemon battle. Gary beats Ash with his Eevee and leaves. Professor Oak later tells Ash that Gary is headed for the Johto League, Ash follows.

Illusion Confusion - As Ash, Misty, and Brock travel through a forest they begin to see their worst fears. Gary arrives with a Hoothoot and tells them everything was an illusion and tells them about how a Hoothoot will get them out of the forest safely.

Power Play! - As Ash, Misty, and Brock are traveling through the mountains they find Gary battling with a young boy who is using an Alakazam and Gary uses a new Pokemon they haven't seen before - Umbreon. Psychic is no match for Dark and Gary wins. Ash begs Gary for a battle but he refuses. Later the power goes out in a small town and Gary looks over the village with his Umbreon, moments later he sees Ash running through the trees to the power plant. Gary runs to catch up with them and finds them battling Team Rocket, Gary says he will go to the dam to restore power. When Team Rocket is defeated Ash finds Gary at the dam and they work together to get it running.

Extreme Pokemon - When Ash, Brock, and Misty are travelling who comes flying over their heads but Gary. Gary then tells them about a competition he's going to enter then flies off on his skateboard pulled by Arcanine. In a small restaurant Ash learns more about the competition and enters. During the race Team Rocket drops in and steals Gary's Arcanine. Ash has to chase them down, when Gary catches up Ash has freed his Arcanine and they continue the race. Gary begins to win, but in the end Ash wins (you know, how many times is he going to get all the glory?).

Ok, at this point there was a problem, I had dentist stuff and then Homecoming occured, the bottomline: I missed two and a half episodes and didn't realize that the WB was airing them the next Friday. Plus my brain is to full of Physics equations and Pre-Calc so my memory of the episodes are kind of fuzzy.

A Claim to Flame - I missed this one, I'm to lazy to read the entire summary from Serebii.net right now, I'll get to this one eventually.

Tie One On! - Ok, I did see this one, but I have such a fuzzy memory. Ash and another trainer's Pokemon begin a catfight. Officer Jenny arrives and tries to figure out whats going on. Gary appears and saves Ash a ride in a police car. Later on, the two learn they will battle each other in the finals.

The Ties That Bind - I missed the second half of this episode. To be honest I can't remember why. Anyway, Professor Oak and Delia appear and the professor gives Ash and Gary a pokedex upgrade. Gary realizes he doesn't have much information on old Pokemon. He runs off. An important part of this episode is an old pokeball that Ash and Gary each have half of. They were both fishing a long time ago and hooked the old pokeball, it snapped in two so they each kept a piece. Later on he and Ash begin their match, unfortunately this is the half I missed.

Can't Beat the Heat - This ends the battle between Ash and Gary. Gary loses to Ash and gives him his half of the pokeball from so long ago. Gary tells Ash he will root for him during his next battle.

Playing with Fire! - This is the beginning of Ash's next battle, Gary doesn't speak in this one. We see random shots of him watching the battle from the side.

Johto Photo Finish! - Ash's battle ends and he loses. After the battle he and his friends hear girls screaming. It turns out to be a group of Misdreavus that are extremely worried about something. Gary appears and the group follows the Misdreavus to their friend who is trapped under a log. They all lift the log off of the Misdreavus and they fly away. Gary then says the Silver Conference is his last competition, he will become a Pokemon researcher. When they are all ready to part ways Team Rocket appears (I'm not surprised) and Gary, Ash, and Harrison fight them off. They all then leave, Gary will circle the base of Mount Silver and then return to Pallet, Ash will go to Viridian then return to Pallet.

Gotta Catch Ya Later! - This was the second-to-the-last episode of Master Quest. Ash returned to Pallet and searched for Gary. He gave Gary back his half of the pokeball and tells him goodbye, Gary appreciates Ash's kindness and wishes him luck. He tells him maybe he should stay in Pallet for a while and find out where he really wants to go next. Gary then says he is off on another journey with just his Blastoise. He says goodbye and leaves Ash on the hill.
