I would like to thank George,
for sending some of his fantastic finds, so we can all see them.
George is one of those detectorist, that if you watch him
you can learn a lot from.
He is always willing to have a chat and even lets you know if his found a Hot spot or two.
Not sure how long he’s been detecting, but he knows his stuff
and I must admit I have great respect for him and the way he
detects and You wont
meet a nicer guy in any field anywhere.

We think this is a Staff top - 10th-11thC
ecclesiastical mount, of which a very similar example is shown in Benet's (M09-0216).
