How to Tie the Tie

FOUR-IN-HAND

  1. Cross wide end over thin
  2. Curl wide end behind thin and back over to front
  3. Pull wide end up through neck loop
  4. Tuck wide end down into knot and pull until secure

WINDSOR

  1. Drape tie around neck with thin end slightly shorter than wide
  2. Cross wide end over thin; curl wide end completely around and behind thin, then pull up over neck loop
  3. Curl wide end behind thin again
  4. Pull wide end up over neck loop and down again
  5. Cross wide end over thin horizontally, and from this position curl wide end under neck loop and pull up
  6. Tuck wide end into knot you've created and gently pull to fit

HALF-WINDOR

  1. See the Windor, but skip step 4

DIMPLE

  1. Before you tighten it up to your throat, neatly pinch the fabric directly underneath the knot
  2. Keep pinching as you tighten the knot; make sure the dimple's locked in
