Arica is the second largest continent in the world. It has a continental area of 11,700,000 square miles, with an estimated population of 690 million people. The longest river in Africa is the Nile River. It runs for 4,160 miles. The largest river is Lake Victoria and it is 26,828 square miles. The tallest mountain in Africa is Kilimanjaro and is 19,340 feet high.
Africa includes 53 independent countries. The wildlife in Africa includes chameleons, seals, frogs, nile crocodiles, african elephants, gorillas, and cheetahs to name a few. Health is a big issue over there. Malaria and aids are the major health concerns. Each day, 3,000 children under the age of five die from Malaria in Arica. There have been over 17 million people in sub-Saharan Africa died of Aids.
