Generation: Choice
November 20th 2004:  Volume 1; Issue 1
Welcome to Generation: Choice
To state that we live in an exciting epoch would be at once an understatement and an affront to the history of human.  Though it could be easily argued that some epochs were more boring than othersthe third century seems especially uneventfulthe case for Most Exciting Epoch could be argued by any people in any place at any time to no avail.  Try telling the Persian Sassanid Dynasty that the third century was uneventful! This whole existence thing is a riot.

Since this is our day, our partiality to deeming this era especially thrilling is understandable.  Historys frontier is always the most exciting place to be.  Our case, however, is bolstered by the industrial and technological revolutions, which have changed and continue to change the nature of our daily existence in ways erstwhile generations could never have fathomed.

One of the most significant of these changes has been the manner by which we communicate.  Communicating to increase understanding is what life does best and must do best to survive, both macro- and microscopically.  The methods by which we share informationthe Internet, cell phones, wireless computers, nation-wide Walkie-Talkies, television, radio, print media, etc.will continue to progress and revolutionize human existence.  A downside is that for as easily as we can get around the world from our desktop, around the world can just as easily get to us as is typical of humanity, a lot of garbage and misinformation is being hurled our way.

Add to this an American cultural structure in which myriad factors have combined to grant us the awesome privilege and cherished responsibility of making our own decisions like never beforeexistence is always overcoming fate; evolution is an arduous path to increased free willand the world becomes a garbage heap through which you must sift for greater understanding.

Enter Generation Choice.  At this blog you are presented with an array of divergent viewpoints to help you better understand your confounded world.  The filters through which we present our views are quite clear.  Unlike the mainstream media, we make no false pretensions to objectivityour bias is upfront and well acknowledged.  Our only hope is that you will do with our weltanschauungs what you will.  We want you to read all sides of any argument and make your own informed decisions as you work to create your essence.  As we entertain and enlighten, you decide what is right and wrong, cool and lame, up and down, etc. for both the world and yourself.

If you enjoy licking balls and praying to God for more balls to lick, for instance, you might identify with Kevin, our resident Homo-in-Chief and erudite Theologian.  Perhaps you are perplexed by the male sex?  Visit Lillian, Professional Feminist and Fag-Hag; she is equally as perplexed but never lacking for words.  If youre worried about global warming but love capitalism, visit Gary Glow, an environmental conservative who plans to revolutionize the way we think about saving nature (he is single, ladies).  Daniel would be glad to negate anything you think you know about the nature of existence, and Rob would be happy to convey what it was like for the infantry at the Battle of Waterloo.  You can visit these and so many more at Generation Choice, your one-stop shop for news and views from people like you.

The Baby-Boom Generation had its fun.  As they prepare to bankrupt our Social Security, the least we can do is pick up the cultural torch and keep things interesting.  Where you get the flame for your individuality, however, is up to you everything is up to you!  We are the freest generation in history.  What a splendid time for a revolution!
