My G3 Gandad was called Danvers ALLIN and lived in Great Fryup in the parish of Danby.  Local books said "there has always been a Danvers ALLIN in Fryup&quo ;   Tracking back through the parish records and wills I found generation after generation of Danvers ALLINs back to the earliest one who baptised his twin sons Richard and Robert at Danby in 1598.   Richard settled in Danby and was in olved in the sale of the Estate in 1655 by the then deceased John the regicide.  Richard also was mentioned in the will of Samuel Rabankes who was steward to the Danvers family and left a grant to the poor of Danby and  laisdale (plaque in Danby church).  Samuel left Richard his Golden Girdle.   Danvers ALLIN (10x GGdad) was mentioned in the will (1620) of his father in law (William WATSON) as being "of Dauntsey in Wiltshire" and the Bishops Transcripts for 1607 (ish) are signed by Danvers ALLIN as Church Warden.  Where and when Danvers ALLIN was born, married and died I do not know.  Was he called Danvers because he was part of the Danvers family or a servant?   Some at least of his children returned t Dauntsey.  I have a copy of the will of his son Simon who died about 1660 (by memory).    I was born and bred in County Durham.  I now live in Dursley about 20 miles from Dauntsey.  The chapel & tomb of Henry is totally essed up by the rear of the organ which protrudes into the chapel and almost touches the tomb.    Anyone know of a connection between the DANVERS and ALLINS?  Bryan HOGGARTH
