Comments:

Just as in real life, the Cubs emerged as the NL pennant winners. They had an easier time than their real life counterparts as they finished 6 games ahead of Pittsburgh and 9 games ahead of the Giants. The American League, however, was completely wacky. The real life champs, Detroit,   really collapsed and finished 10 games behind their actual pace. They made way too many errors and I think that was a large part of their problems. In fact, the whole AL made too many, but it seemed to affect the Tigers more than other teams. I later learned that if one enters in the number of errors made by a player instead of using his fielding percentage, this will cause older teams to commit too many errors. In Detroit�s case, their catcher, Boss Schmidt, made 75 errors and their firstbaseman, Claude Rossman, made 60 errors! The World Series went as expected as the Cubs beat the St. Louis Browns who had surprisingly won the A.L.

Real Life: Boston Braves defeat Philadelphia A�s in World Series
SBS Sim: Red Sox defeat Braves

The Boston Braves didn�t need a miracle in the simulation as they led the NL most of the way and finished 4 games ahead of the Cardinals and 5 ahead of Brooklyn. The Giants faded and finished 8 games back. The Boston Red Sox surpised the Philadelphia A�s by winning the AL by a comfortable margin of 10 games. The Red Sox capped their own "miracle" by destroying the Braves in 5 games. The Braves were outscored by the Red Sox 24-6 and three of those runs came in their only win, a 3-0 effort in game 2. They hit a mere .174 for the series.

Real Life: Red Sox defeat Brooklyn Dodgers in World Series
SBS Sim: White Sox defeat Dodgers

The Dodgers went to their first World Series in 1916. They also did so in the sim, but only after winning a one game playoff against the Phillies. The Red Sox were not able to win the simulated AL. In real-life, their great pitching and defense carried them past a White Sox team that allowed only slightly fewer runs and scored (get from BR) more than the Red Sox. The more balanced White Sox captured the simulated AL and the World Series. The Dodgers fared no better against the palehose than they did against the Red Sox in the actual World Series. Neither side mustered much offense in the five game series as the ChiSox scored 14 runs to the Dodgers 9.. Eddie Cicotte, one of the eight White Sox involved in the 1919 Black Sox scandal, pitched a no-hitter in game 2
