He rode for the Macneil team, along with Dave Freimuth. He made it to the finals, which were held on April 22nd. When the next random trick that the riders had to do was a backflip, Gary Young was forced to do one. On the first try, Gary bailed out in the middle of it and that caused him to get "P-I-G" and elimated him and Dave from advancing to the next round. After his bail, he got back up and pulled it clean, unfortunately it didn't count. So, Gary and Dave ended up in 4th place in the finals. Right after the contest, Nick Halsey, Harrison Boyce, Adam Perez, and Josh from the Macneil team flew out to meet up with Gary Young, Jay Miron, Dave Freimuth, John Heaton, Alistair Whitton, and Robin Fenlon, who were all at the contest. Along with 2 riders from the Etnies team, they set off on a trip, stopping in 4 main locations for demos. The trip will be filmed and released on dvd from Macniel soon after it's over. The trip will also be covered by Ride UK magazine. For more information on it, visit www.macneilbmx.com. |
