I'm somewhat entrepreneurial in that I've tried many different businesses in the different places I've lived. My friends call me the "Idea Guy." My latest, for the past five years has been a cigar distribution co. We started it with a unique retail end that catered to special events throughout the bay area but it grew into distribution here in the wine country. I've been tapering it back of late because of the strict Calif. Laws recently enacted. I hope to have a new business up and running next spring and totally out of the cigar business by then.
One of the only constants in my life has been bar tending. I've done it on an off since my college days. A friend of mine has owned a small saloon here in Yountville called Pancha's, for the past 20 years. It was always owned an operated by the family but partly by luck and partly by default it happens to be the last bar open for about a 30 mile radius. Needless to say it has gotten to be one very busy place. He came to me about 6 years ago now and asked if I could help out and I'm still there. Really can't complain to loud though, the money is great! |
