JULY and AUGUST - As is traditional, we’ll go dark, but the Trustee Building and Grounds Committee is seeking volunteers to help cutting grass or pounding a nail (general maintenance). A Lodge acquires finances through 3 regular sources: initiation fees, annual dues, and fund raising activities. Hope you make plans to attend the Gary Lodge Annual Smorgasbord Fund Raising Dinner 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on June 8th. Please mark your calendar now! This event channels funds to your Lodge. Bring a friend or neighbor who you think would make a good candidate for membership by such exposure. We could hope to obtain some worthy petitions for our degrees. Our event was successfully held in March, the Annual Easter Egg Hunt chaired by Larry Nelson, P.M. A fine banner was donated by Bro. Ray Pavic of Garco Graphics and was placed in view of traffic on Route 30. *A G.T.W.H.B.A. Sickness and distress: Brother Gary Newcomer recently moved into a Nursing Home in Indianapolis, Indiana. Take a moment to pray for him and also for your Sr. Steward, J. Rich who recently underwent an operation, and for his family currently going through several challenges. J. Rich will feel a whole lot better if you submitted to him the name of a daughter, granddaughter, sister or niece for membership in Job’s Daughters, the Masonic affiliate for young ladies. For details call him at (219) 662-2408. Our condolences goes out to our Senior Deacon Bryan Harpp, Lake County Sheriff’s Department Officer who was devastated at the death of his K-9 Police dog that died after a pursuit and shoot-out. Enclosed with this issue you will find an example of the hundreds of such short talk bulletins available through the Masonic Service Association of United States. Be very proud of what you stand for, especially in the turmoil of world events... “There you stand, a just and upright Mason, never hesitate ever to walk and act as such.” Fraternally, *A good time was had by all. |
