Amiga Computers

Introduced in 1985, and last sold in 1987, the Amiga 1000 was far superior to the PC and the Mac, both of which outlived it. The Amiga 500 and 2000 were later introduced, but the whole "Commodore Business Machines" line suffered from the successes of the C64 series as an "excellent games machine". Not very much non-game software was written for it. Commodore eventually went out of business (many of the developers were snapped up by MicroSoft to make WindowsNT ) and Gateway at one time owned the rights to the Amiga.
