Horror films have had a huge impact on me since my early days watching such greats as "Friday the 13th" and "Halloween" as i got older and more into the genre, i discovered other greats that i was not old enough or just was too damn scared to watch as a young lad. Such terrifying classics as "The Exorcist" and "Evil dead" and during that period of time i discovered a some what "devotion" to the under appreciated genre. when i discovered my undying love for the films i had to learn anything and everything about them. and that ment seeing less popular underground horror films like "dead alive" and the films of "Lucio Fulci" by then i was a die hard fan and started biulding this site. as i researched more and more i started hearing about such exploitation films as "Cannibal holocaust" and "Cannibal Ferox". films that had either been banned or were just not sold in the U.S. I ordered "Cannibal holocaust" off the net from "England" and instantly became a huge fan of exploitation cinema.
Well up until a few months ago i had never even heard of the forgotten "German" classic "Nekromantic" i read numerous reviews and found that althought the reviews told alot about the film. they never said if it was any good or not. So i figured what the hell, ill see for myself. I went to my favorite local underground video store(not literally) and saw the film sitting there on the shelf in all its sick glory. i brought it home and after a few hours of getting ready i popped it in.
What i found is a film that is so well done and so cared after that some might even be able to look past the sick and vile scenes(and i meen SOME) the films mood, direction, and beautiful score help it too be a great film about such a controversial topic as "necrophelia". some of the scenes are very sick and very disturbing and for this, i cannot suggest it to just anyone. the only people that i can suggest this film too are people who are die-hard horror fans and have seen enough in their pointless lives to stomach such scenes as a couple having hardcore sex with a rotting corpse and really getting into it. or a man rubbing a newly murdered cats intestines all over his face and bathing in its fluids. or a man so sexually frustrated that he is forced to kill himself to get off. all of these scenes and more are shown in graghic and strikingly realistic detail so be warned.
Gore: well we get dead bodies being screwed, dead animals, bloddy sperm and suicides
Nudity: hell yes! naked woman, naked men, neked corpses you name it.
Pace: pretty short film , so the pace is fine
Scary: its pretty frightning watching people have intercorse with the deseased
Story: very original......and sick
overall: hell i enjoyed it, but about 98% of mthe world will probably think the complete opposite
