i wasnt sure wether or not to see this film because i wasnt sure if it was a horror film or not. well i waited and waited and finnaly it showed up on pay per view so i rented it. the film "Identity" isnt what you would call a classic horror film, but more like a great psychological thriller that will keep you guessing. the movie had me turning my head to the side more than once with its...lets just say "Interesting" story. the actors did well as far as there semi-boring roles went(all but the struggling family, who i didnt buy at all!) but other than them i was rooting for the characters the whole time. The film(although not a horror film) did have some chilling scenes and made me jump more than once it also had its share of comedy(not too much) but still a couple of funny scenes. Now let me bring you to the end, the end was the work of a art, a masterpiece! whoever wrote it, i applaud you. it was tottaly surprising and pucnhed me in my face. What i didnt like about the film and made me bring the score down was the absence of any nudity and how the film shyed away from the gore never really going into detail. some parts drag and a lot of the characters dont have personality( a lot more couuld have been done with the prostitute) but all that aside "Identity" is a smart and original concept that i think a lot of people will love
Gore: for the most part the film isnt very bloody but we do get a baseball bat shoved in someones mouth, a decapitated head and some bloody bodies. my favorite is when the mom gets hit by the car!
Nudity: someone forgot this was a slasher flick. we get a prostitute but no tits! what!
Pace: some parts drag on a while but the movie is pretty short going on at a pretty fast pace.
Scary: not as scary as i was suspecting but a few chilling scenes and some suspence
Story: the story was perfectly written for a psychological thriller, i would have never known!
Overall i great film and a potential buy, yet not much gore and no nudity and the occasional bad acting keep the film from getting a great score.
