The story starts out with a man buying a strange puzzle box. He takes it home and solves it, when he solves the cenobites which are demons come and take him to hell. he soon escapes the cenobites clutches but only as a skeleton, the only way he can regain his human form is by human blood so he asks his brothers wife which he once had an affair with to help him by killing innocent men and allowing him to take there blood. she hesitintly agrees but soon finds out that it will come with a huge price. i have loved horror movies since i was very young. i have seen most all of the classics but up until just a few weeks ago, i had never seen this classic movie. i had heard of it many times and saw that it got great reviews but never got around to renting it, well i should have known what i was missing out on. i sat down to watch this and i gotta tell you it was one of the best 1 and 1/2 hours i have ever spent. this movie has almost everything i look for in a movie, and the qualities it doesnt have, it doesnt need. this is one that belongs in all horror fans collections. Gore: we get tons of nasty scenes including hooks pulling skin off, hammer shots to the head a stabbing and people being drained of all there blood. sweat! Nudity: the only nudity is a couple of pictures where FRank is doin the nasty with some chick Pace: this one goes along at an average pace taking its time to set up its amazing story and then jumping right under your skin. Scary: it gets a little freaky at times with Franks fleshless body hanging around and haunting visits from the cenobites Story: i will give alot of credit to "Clive" on this one. it is a very original story that sounds like something out of a great novel. Bravo! Overall the movie was great, check this one out. with its nasty gore scenes frightning elements and great story, you really cant go wrong.
