Last evening, YMCA Texas Youth and Government clubs
from all over the Houston district gathered at a YMCA training facility to
expand their knowledge and skills.
Delegates from many sections of the program were present: Judicial,
Legislative, Media, and EGP were all well represented. Legislative participants viewed a short video and then
practiced what they had learned by going through a bill presented by Katie
Gulley, an extremely qualified candidate for Speaker of the House. The bill was chaired by Nathan Ball, candidate for President Pro Tem of the
Senate. Joel Shrader of the Fort Bend
YMCA ably served as the hearing committee clerk. Amidst all this activity, Garrett Gibson, candidate for
Governor, was supported by an enthusiastic core of committed volunteers. He himself spoke a few words to the
assembled delegates concerning his campaign and shook hands with many
potential voters. Says his campaign
manager: “Garrett is committed to reaching out to people from all walks of
life. He is a candidate we can all
vote for; he is a Texan!”
