Elijah Wood Interview
On the Hobbit feet:
I had prosthetic feet, and to get those on took about an hour-and-a-half. And then to put the wig and the ears on, it was about an hour. So all in all, the makeup took two, two-and-a-half hours. I so badly wanted to get out of wearing the feet, because then it would mean an extra hour of sleep. I would always go up to the first assistant director and say "Are you sure you're going to need me in the feet tomorrow?" And he'd say "Well, Pete (Jackson, the film's director) doesn't know, but I think so." And I'm like, You're not going to see them. And, of course, I'd be right.
On Romance:
I miss it. Really miss it. You know, it's dangerous, because I'm terribly romantic... I used to get myself into these relationships that were more about my idealisation of love than the fact that I'm really in love with them. However, it's wonderful being single. I'm lookin but I'm not looking.
On fame:
It's a consequence of what we do in acting. The one great thing about it is that it allows us to continue to act in films. I've seen what happens to some friends. Fame can ruin people's lives and turn them into monsters.
