ICAITPM129A - Apply Skills In Project Intergration

Assignmnet 1

1.

2. The Stake holders of a project, is anyone who is either directly, or indirectly, influenced by the outcome of a project.

3. The Stake Holders of this project would be the teachers and staff, the Minister of Education, the students, parents, the Computer Technicians and the Electricians

4. From the Minister of Educations view, I could see this project as a waste of resources, or as a chance of bettering the educations of the children of that school. Both of these view are applicable, as, for the first point of view, it would take a large amount of money to set up the facilities needed for the networking of the computers, and can be seen as a risk, should something go wrong. How ever, if the project had the time taken to be carefully set up, and everything went according to plan, then the benefits of this project would far outweigh the costs, due to the experience the children would obtain from working with computers.

5. The two most major risks involved in this project are the disruption of the childrens learning whilst the GPO's and side panels are being installed, and secondly, the risk of being over-budget. a few ways to combat the first risk, is to move the children to a different room while the upgrades are being carriered out, although there may not be enough spare classrooms for all classes to be moved at once. also, working over the weekend, and after school hours may help to minimise this risk. the second risk would be far greater to minimise, as no matter how much planning u take, something can still go wrong. however, taking all the proper precations when setting up the classrooms/computers could help minimise the chances of something going wrong.

6. For this project, all the staffing that should be needed, are electricians and computer technicians.

7. A project is described as "A temporary endeavor undertaken to accomplish a unique purpose"(Schwalbe, K "Project Management"2002 Course Technology P4). However a more in depth description would be that a project has a unique goal that must be acheived; that a project cannot be permanent; that a project goal can be difficult to cearly define; that a project should have a sponser; and that a project will need some type of resource or skill.

8. Project Management Intergration, is the process of managing each aspect of a project, as to ensure that the project is well intergrated, and all elements complete at the right times, so thhat the project is finished on time. The three main steps that can be used to insure Project management intergration are; Project Plan Development, Project Plan Execution, and Intergrated Chang Control.

9. The Four Phases of a Project refer to the common phases of all projects, which are Concept, Development, Implementation and Close out. The concept phase comes first, and is usually where most of the planning is done. It is this phase where the projects description is broken down and an estimation of the cost/work involved is created. Secondly is the Development phase. This phase extendes the work done in the first Phase, and attempts to get more definative figures on work, cost and time. In the third phase, Implementation, the definative figures are implemented and given to the stake holders for review. Finaly the last phase, the Close-Out phase. In this, all work is completed, the stake holders should review the outcome to see if it is acceptable, and the work team should document their experiences for future use.
