Who are these Garhwalis ....?!

They are the people living on the lower and middle basins of The Himalayas, in the Uttaranchal region of India. One of the most ecologically rich and sensitive, still the most neglected region of the world.

The people living here are simple, honest, and God abiding. They have little means, little worries, and live simple lives. Most of them work on small fields or are migrated to bigger cities in the plains in search of livelihood. They form close-knit families and are deeply rooted in tradition.

These hill people traverse long distances to fetch drinking water, their children for primary education, and elders for basic medication. They live in simple shelters under constant threats of landslides, earthquakes, and cloudbursts. There are other dangers too: to their crops from wild animals and, to their lives from leopards, cheetah, and cyal. They live in remote peaks, deep valleys, or dense forests, far away from motor able roads, often in isolated homes.

Is it a destiny? Are they complaining? Is there any help?
