Hello! As a Mexican exchange student in Barcelona`s Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, it was very difficult to find a job that would adapt to the class schedule... so I decided to design a puppet character to go in the Rambla, a long boulevard-like avenue that goes from the Plaza Catalunya to the old harbour. In this page you will find information about the proyect, how was the design process, the construction of the puppet and related aspects. The Ramblas is a space open to street performers, human statues (people painted like marble or metal statues of different characters) impersonators of famous people (Che Guevara, Charles Chaplin or Michael Jackson...)or jugglers, musicians and puppetters. |

|
Finding a part time job as a foreign Design student in Barcelona is REALLY HARD. It's a city where you cannot throw a stone without hitting a designer of some sort...and finding a job with flexible hours was impossible. A personal love of teathre and circus led to the idea of working in the Ramblas, and as a designer I decided to undertake the proyect like it would be a professional job... though with recicled materials. |
