Overkill

"I wish I were in the land of cotton,"
If only old times could be forgotten,
I know Id be happier,
but then where would I be?
I couldnt be here.

Everything Id see
would remind me of her
and her of me.
So what is to be done?
Ill sit and suck my thumb.

With every pull I strive
to stay me,
but it is useless,
I shrink into the corner,
And am once again five.
