THE 3 STANDARD FORMS

Type ONE (still possible):

IF + PRESENT tense, main clause: Future tense (or imperative)

Type TWO (hypothetical: impossible NOW)

IF + PAST tense (to be: were for all) main clause: CONDITIONAL ONE (would + inf.)

Type THREE: (hypothetical: impossible because it is OVER)

IF + PAST PERFECT tense, main clause: CONDITIONAL TWO (would have + 3rd form)

If the weather is fine tomorrow, we (go) for a walk.
If I (have) a lot of money I would buy a car.
If they (study) for the test, they would have got a good mark.
If she were a princess, she (live) in a castle.
If he (know) her address, he will certainly tell you.
If he had seen the film, he (can) tell you the story.
What would you do if you saw (see) a brontosaurus walking down Oxford Street?
She will be unhappy if she (not get) a ticket for the concert.
They (pay) less if they had been a group of 10.
She would not write a letter if she (not want) the job.
