Where Life Takes Us

"Each new day and each new beginning brings us to a world full of compromises and challenges. It is often how we deal with the obstacles rather than necessarily where the road leads us. My heart torn, in many directions, accepts what I must face...what I must reckon with...in hopes that the change will make me a stronger person; thus with new found knowledge and strength, I too will make a difference in the world." You might be asking yourself what happens now. I often reflect on the years of not knowing what caused me such pain and agony. What if I had never found out, then what? Mito is such a horrible disease that it plagues people in different ways, thus treatments may or may not work. So the doctors review symptoms and at best, try to keep one from being asymptomatic.

In my case, I learned that I have Lactic Acidosis, which makes my legs burn 98 percent of the time. This burn may be similiar to what one experiences after a good deal of exercise. The doctors also confirmed I have Stroke like episodes and currently trying me on a  variation of a mito cocktail: C0Q10, B-1 and B-2. If this regimen does not work, the end result would be anti-epileptic medication.
For years I had the initial complaint of my eye being blurry, seeing was like looking through a foggy windshield. Irreversible optic nerve damage is also present.

I do my best to live stress free as I can and REST alot. I do eat every 4 to 5 hours, otherwise my metabolism falls off the deep end. Kerplunk! My support network keeps me in check with my Christian faith and helps me complete goals that might otherwise be unattainable.
