Jim Rea: Once Upon a Mountain
There was a time in my life, when things seemed so lopsided and out of balance. It wasn't until I met Jim that the out of balance and lopsidedness all made sense.
It became second nature to forget about the diversity and just give in to reality.
I cannot tell you the times that I wanted to be someone else for a day. To cover up the tear stained sheets and go into hiding. But Jim refused to give up on me and helped me gain strength to combat the monster that was making me sick.

I met Jim through an online message board with the Multiple Sclerosis Network. He was National MS Father of the Year in 1996. He maintains that an active lifestyle is best, when you can be. He enjoys the outdoors and loves to hike.

This is his take on life:

"Saunter, stroll, amble, wander, and meander are the words that I think of often. They are part of my outlook on life. I often start projects that I never finish. Sometimes I plan to go some place, I put whatever I need in my car and start out for my destination, but I never get there. I love to fish, but am just as happy catching nothing, as I am when I catch the big one. I feel sorry for the people who think there is something wrong with this type of behavior. They just do not understand that the completion of the project or arriving at the destination does not have to be the goal all of the time. The enjoyment is often in the journey-the people I meet, the unexpected treasure I see-that is where the thrill is; and if I do not begin the project or start the trip, I will never know the joy of the journey."---Jim Rea
