"So remind me again why Drew is the only one who gets to walk through the door," Ryan hissed, lugging a rope over his shoulder.
"Because no one is going to think it’s suspicious if Drew goes waddling about the corridors," Colin spat.
"We don't look suspicious," Wayne piped up.
"Wayne, if eight of us go marching in there with mountain climbing gear we are going to look a little strange," Colin retorted.
"Speak for yourself buddy," Wayne snide.
Colin stopped on a lawn area and scanned the building.
"This way," he ordered and led the group up an old fire escape.
"If we die…I blame you," Greg scorned looking back at Ryan who was bringing up the rear.
"Why me?" Ryan grumbled.
"He's your friend," Greg stated.
"Oh stop your bloody whingeing," Tony huffed.
Greg poked his tongue out at Ryan and in return Ryan grabbed Greg's ankle and yanked him hard enough to scare the shit out of him.
"You bastard," Greg hissed as they clambered onto the roof of the abc building.
"Kiss my ass," Ryan spat.
"Will you two please act your age," Colin growled, then turned to inspect the stairwell.
"You distract him I'll give him a wedgie," Ryan enthused.
"Dude, I don't think our lives are worth risking for a wedgie," Greg giggled.
"Everyone follow me…and keep quiet," Colin whispered and led the way down the stairwell.
Things ran smoothly until Josie tripped and fell into Colin's back, causing Colin to fall forward and slide front first down the stairs. He ended up in a heap on the landing.
There were muffled giggles and Josie bounded down to Colin.
"Colin are you all right?" she asked, crouching down.
"Get away from me you mad cow," Colin hissed and slowly got to his feet.
"Hey look, there's a door," Chip said, stating the obvious.
"I know Esten…it leads to the top floor…so once again stay quiet…and Greg…swap places with Josie," Colin breathed.
Greg and Josie reluctantly swapped and then they all filed into the corridor.
"So how do we get around without being seen?" Ryan asked.
Colin looked up and down the corridor before a grin spread across his face.
"The air conditioning system," he replied and tiptoed over to a vent in the wall and removed the grating.
"I am not crawling in there," Tony announced.
"Yes you are it’s big enough for all of us…even giraffe boy," Colin stated.
"It’s preposterous," Tony wailed.
"Are you a man or a mouse boy?" Colin spat.
"A bloody mouse," Tony huffed.
"I thought you wanted to be part of this team?" Colin continued.
"I do," Tony replied, "I just don't think crawling through…there…is necessary."
"I don't care what you think," Colin growled, moving his face close to Tony's, "but if you don't…I won't just let your tires down."
Colin then abruptly turned away and clambered into the vent, followed by Greg, Chip, Josie, Richard, Tony, Wayne and Ryan.
The further they moved into the air conditioning system the more claustrophobic Ryan felt. He tried to move faster but every time he did he went face first into Wayne's butt.
"Can you not do that," Wayne grumbled.
"Hey, it’s no picnic for me either," Ryan hissed.
"Could have fooled me," Wayne jeered.
Before Ryan could rebuke, the floor beneath him began to descend down and became increasingly slippery.
A millisecond later all of them were tumbling down into a larger area, Ryan squishing everyone as he came to a stop.
"Yes this is a fabulous idea," Tony grumbled from under Chips' leg.
"I think I broke several vertebra," Greg wheezed.
"I landed on something squishy," Wayne perked.
"Glad to be of service," Josie grumbled.
"Col, we've been friends a long time…and I have to say you're really starting to push it," Ryan scorned, getting to his knees.
"Listen to you all…Ow I hurt…I don't want to…You're mean…You make it sound like you don't want Whose Line back," Colin spat.
"It’s not that we don't want it back…we just don't want to die in the process," Ryan hissed.
"Do you think petitions or protests would have done anything…DO YOU?" Colin snapped.
"There's nothing wrong with sitting down and having a nice chat with the CEO," Tony stated.
"Hey look I can see a studio," Chip piped up from over by a grate.
"Is it the Whose Line studio?" Colin asked, making his way over.
"I'm pretty sure it is," Chip nodded.
"Excellent…get the grid off…Ryan pass me the rope," Colin instructed.
"Hold on…we're rappelling in?" Greg gasped.
"No Greg we're doing the hula," Colin hissed.
"Who's going to go first?" Josie asked.
Colin turned straight to Chip. "Esten."
"Oh…joy," Chip sarced.
Chip was forced into a harness, attached to the rope with a figure of eight and made to sit on the edge of the open vent.
"Are you sure this is safe?" Chip breathed.
"I don't know buddy…we're not experts at this kinda stuff," Ryan warned.
"Are you saying I don't know what I'm doing?" Colin snapped.
"Yeah that's EXACTLY what I'm sayin'," Ryan rebuked.
"How dare you undermine my authority," Colin yelled.
"What authority…you don't even have authority over your dog," Ryan yelled back.
They began to scuffle and in the process Chip was knocked forward and disappeared into the darkness.
Wayne noticed the entire rope appeared to disappear too. "Guys," he gasped. "Guys…Guys…GUYS," Wayne eventually screamed.
Colin and Ryan stopped wrestling and looked at Wayne.
"Who tied off the end of the rope?" Wayne peeped.
Ryan's eyes went wide and he stuck his head down the hole.
"Chip…can you hear me…are you ok?" he called.
"I can't feel my legs," Chip groaned.
A short while later everyone was gathered in the studio.
"Hey guys," Drew perked turning the lights up.
There were mumbles of, "Hi Drew."
Colin did a 360 degree turn and then another one. "Where's the set?" he asked.
"I ah…couldn't convince anyone to do it…I was gonna tell ya," Drew said meekly.
"You were going to tell me," Colin said in disbelief, then walked over and smacked Drew in the head. "We've got an hour until show time…AN HOUR."
"Oh shame, is it all off then?" Ryan grinned.
"You think I'd stop now?" Colin almost laughed. "Come on everyone…we'll have to do the set ourselves," he instructed.
Everyone followed Colin except Chip. "Hey, guys…I really can't feel my legs," he whimpered.
