The Jackal…

Kate’s smile faltered as the Ken Doll drew closer, one of his arms had been ripped off, duct tape appeared to be holding one of his legs in place and his head lilted to one side. She sighed, why was it all the good looking ones were married, gay or dead. She smiled coquettishly, and stepped backwards, feeling around behind her for the doorway.
"You know, those really are some teeth. You must tell me how you get them that white." Her smile faltered once more as she realised she was trapped; only wall behind her, the damn door had shut.
Chip stepped forward again, forcing Kate to step back against the wall. She glanced over his shoulder; there was an open door on the other side of the room.
"Well that’s a trade secret, but I will tell you it involves the use of a tongue."
Kate gave a half hearted smile back, she figured for a dead guy he sure had a lot of confidence … and, well, it couldn’t be any worse than dating Drew or Oswald. "Well you really must show me some time."
Chip gave her a charming smile before leaning in and proceeding to do just that, he had barely started when he was ripped away. Kate sighed, why was she always rescued at the wrong time, she gasped upon realising it wasn’t one of the guys coming to save her but instead before her stood Mimi.
Mimi was dead? When? How? Though looking at what she was wearing Kate did wonder if perhaps Mimi had drowned in all the vomit that would have been deposited by others having the misfortune of seeing her outfit. However the small cage stuck on her head with a dead rabid gerbil running around it was probably a better indication as to her method of death.
"Get away from the skank, you non-anatomically correct freak." Mimi held up her hands, showing Kate the two-inch garish bubblegum pink nails before snarling, "I have some pain I need to dish out."
Kate looked at the Ken Doll, hoping he would do something, but he was sat on the floor sulking.
"Ah Mimi, how long have you been here?"
"Long enough to see the pig break the walls."
Kate nodded slowly, "Ok one more question, when exactly did you die?"
"Yesterday, the police think it was murder, poor Steve he must be so devastated, oh how I love…"
Kate was distracted momentarily from Mimi’s ranting, by giggling coming from near the door, she looked to see Larry and Wick, doing something inexplicable with a carrot while watching her predicament. Kate looked back at Mimi, realising she had stopped talking. Mimi had a snarl one her face, which seemed to be directed at Kate’s shoulder, even the gerbil had stopped running around and was baring its teeth. Mimi shifted her position, and Kate knew what was coming, "Ah crap."

Lewis and Oswald trundled down the corridors, searching for any sign of the other two. Oswald kept spinning around with his piece of glass, to see if the Canadian was still following, smacking Lewis in the back of his leg occasionally as he did it.
"Will you stop doing that," Lewis growled, "he’ll just keep following us if he thinks we like him."
Lewis continued grumbling to himself as they walked, since he was carrying the glass he was unable to drink any beer and it was driving him nuts, it had been the longest 15 minutes of his life. Oswald sidled up to him; "He’s just like a puppy, all excited and follows you everywhere." Oswald panted excitedly.
Lewis gave Oswald a sour look and quickened his pace, there was a corner up ahead and he figured he could stop there for a few minutes and drink a few bottles. He stopped, leaned the glass panel against the wall and opened the first of four Buzz beers. Oswald loitered where he was trying to keep track of the Canadian. But looked back to Lewis when he spoke, indicating to the wall in front of himself, "What do you suppose that’s about."
Oswald walked up next to Lewis and looked at the wall, he could see Kate’s back up against the wall; looking around her he could see Mimi. He started to fret and turned to Lewis aghast, "What are we going to do?"
Lewis feigned shock, "Gee Oswald, I just don’t know…"
Oswald looked back at Kate and leant his panel of glass against the wall and started banging his hands against the wall in earnest, screaming, "Let her go…Let her go." Mimi, who had noticed him over Kate’s shoulder, sneered in his direction, before turning back to Kate. The gerbil however had stopped its running and looked straight at Oswald baring its ugly yellow teeth. Oswald gasped and stepped back into Lewis, standing on his foot. Through clenched teeth, Lewis finished, "…How do you purpose we deal with that?"
Oswald shook his head, "That gerbil looks mighty pissed off, we’ll never be able to defeat it."
Lewis looked at Oswald, bewildered as to how he made it past grade school, "Yeah the gerbil."
They continued to watch as Mimi threw the first ‘punch’. Kate managed to move, but not enough, a long thin line appeared crossing her face from her mouth to her ear. Kate would have gotten angry, but she didn’t have time, Mimi was already making her second and third strikes.
Oswald turned around into Lewis, leaning on his chest, "I can’t watch."
Lewis put a hand on Oswald’s shoulder, never taking his eyes from the scene in front of him. "No buddy, neither can I."
Oswald started beating his hands against Lewis’ torso, "We’ve got to do something."
"There’s something," Lewis remarked and started to move away.
"Eh?" Oswald looked back at the room, the Canadian had entered and was distracting Mimi and Lewis who had picked up his panel of glass, was heading for the open door of the room.
"Get off my leg you demented gnome," Mimi snarled, kicking the Canadian, who had been humping her leg onto the floor. She leant over him, causing him to cower, and said, "What are you doing?"
"I was trying to gain your attention is all," he moped.
          "What for?" she questioned menacingly.
"Ah the others were having a problem in the main foyer with some tourists and they requested your help."
Mimi grunted unconvinced, but dropped a limp Kate to the floor and left the room anyway, directing Larry and Wick to follow with the Canadian. Lewis and Oswald stayed out of sight until they had sauntered off in the opposite direction.
Oswald ran into the room, going straight to Kate to see if she was okay. Other than a few gouges across her face, she seemed only dazed. "Kate, Kate, talk to me," he pleaded, shaking her shoulders.
"Where’s the bathroom?" she responded groggily.
"She’s alright, she’s alright," Oswald chanted, hugging her and bouncing on the spot.
"Great, now we need to leave." Lewis stood outside the door, peering down the corridors, expecting Mimi and Co. to return any minute.
Oswald was still fawning over Kate when Lewis finally walked up to them, grabbed one of Kate’s arms, waited for Oswald to grab the other and they headed toward the door. Lewis could see the ghosts down the corridor through the wall, they were heading straight for the room. Then everything went black.
An unconscious Kate fell with Lewis to the ground when he smacked his head on the door frame. Oswald pointed and giggled, before realising that they should be leaving. He was still trying to lift both Lewis and Kate when the 12 ghosts and Wick, arrived at the door. Oswald looked up, smiled, waved one of Lewis’ and Kate’s hands, and started moving their mouths, speaking for them. The ghosts looked hugely unimpressed. Oswald seeing this put his hands to his face and started to cry, "Oh my god they’re dead, they’re both dead." He turned to the ghosts, "I guess that means they’re no good to you now." They all snarled simultaneously at him, "But I guess there’s still me." Oswald stuttered thoughtfully, who promptly grabbed his chest, made some gurgling sounds, did a pirouette and slumped to the ground face first, knocking himself unconscious. There was a unanimous grumble among the ghosts, who all looked at the rather upset Canadian, they went to approach the prone figures when a loud buzzer rang throughout the house. They all stopped, turned and headed off in the same direction, leaving Wick to move all the ‘bodies’.
